The Power 50 summit The inaugural eGaming Review Power 50 summit took place this week in spectacular fashion, with a large proportion of the industry’s key players assembling in a stately home in the English countryside. CEOs and board level directors from the leading poker, casino and sports betting industry attended to discuss how to overcome the crucial stumbling blocks to this industry’s growth. One of the highlights of the conference was a presentation by James Rudd from investment bank Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, who outlined the best routes capital raising for online gaming firms. But there were also hugely entertaining and enlightening presentations on PR, lobbying, the financial markets as well as many discussions on the future of the industry. And the charity poker tournament on Monday night was another high point, with the final table resulting in an epic battle between two egaming titans with the winner to be revealed in next month’s egaming review. The guest list read like a who’s who of the egaming world with attendees including Mark Blandford, from Sportingbet, Jon Salmon, from Intercasino, Richard Rowe, from Golden Palace, Calvin Ayre from Bodog, Ed Andrewes from Victor Chandler as well as top figures from Sports Interaction, BetWWTS, Carmen Media and too many more to list. Charlie Kerr, the managing director of eGaming Review’s publisher Pageant Media, said he was overwhelmed by the success of the event. “The summit exceeded our wildest expectations, and we hope everyone enjoyed themselves and learned something from the two days,” Kerr said. “It has been hugely gratifying to get the positive feedback we have received so far, with one managing director calling it the best conference he had ever attended, and we hope we can live up to those standards next year,” he added. eGaming Review would like to extend a huge thanks to everyone who attended, and to our sponsors who made it all possible.
